Raja Ravi Varma, Pages of a Mind: Expressions & Life
Vaishnavi Ramanathan and Farah Siddiqui
The Exhibition contextualised the work of the seminal Indian artists and analysed the importance of the artist to Indian art history. Featuring art works that had seldom been exhibited outside the palaces and homes where the artist himself painted them, the exhibition with the help of documentary evidence, letter, maps and objects inspired by Ravi Varma’s paintings, traced the reasons for the artist having held sway over the public imagination for the last century.
The Exhibition included paintings, lithographs, documentary evidence, letter, maps and objects from the Piramal Art Collection and loaned by private collectors and museums from all over India.
